Fall Presentations Confirmed

The Central PA Chapter of ISSA has confirmed speakers and presentations for the September, October and November meetings.

  • September 8th – Assessing Wireless Security Using Open Source Tools (hands-on lab ane lecture)

The September 8th presentation will be a hands-on lab and lecture on Assessing Wireless Security Using Open Source Tools presented by Matt Neely from SecureState.

Presentation Overview
Matt Neely will present a lecture and lab on assessing and securing wireless networks.  The session is intended for both management and technical security individuals.  In this lab participants will learn basic information about 802.11 networks, how to locate and assess wireless access points using open source tools and tips on securing 802.11 networks. This two hour session will include both a lecture and hands-on lab.  Lab participants should bring a wireless enabled laptop to the class with an SSH or telnet client installed.

About the Speaker
Matt Neely (CISSP, CTGA, GCIH and GCWN) is the Profiling Team Manager at SecureState, a Cleveland Ohio based security consulting company. At SecureState, Matt and his team perform traditional penetration tests, physical penetration tests, web application security reviews and wireless security assessments. His research interests include the convergence of physical and logical security, cryptography and all things wireless. Matt is also a host on the Security Justice podcast.
